And so it begins...

Back in April, the Salvateenies officially signed with the Marla Dell Talent Agency.  We went into it not expecting much, and for three and a half months, that's what we got - not much.

Well, not anything, in fact, except for an email reminding me to update their sizes on the casting website where their portfolio is posted.

Joe went to the orientation in April and it was explained that, for whatever reason, advertising goes in cycles, and baby advertising shoots see an up-tick starting in August.  Lo and behold, on Friday we got an email that the boys had been selected for an audition for a T-Mobile web commercial!

Monday they ate their blueberries, bananas, oatmeal, and yogurt, played a little, changed their clothes, and then packed into the car for the audition.  Caroline was not concerned at all; she figured she just got bonus Daddy time all to herself!

At the casting agency, we signed in and filled out paperwork, then sat to wait.  Daniel and Max were definitely the youngest of the boys we saw in the waiting area.  Most were running around and none were nearly as cute (of course). :)  Max was called back, but they kindly allowed me to bring them both in.  The room was warm, with bright show biz lighting.

There was a woman sitting at a computer, another standing behind a video camera, and a man and woman sitting on a couch, holding clipboards.  I unsnapped Daniel from the stroller first and plopped him down on the floor.  It didn't take him long to find the pretty blonde lady on the couch and start flirting.  Everyone commented on how calm Daniel was, just sitting there.  Then it was Max's turn and he did get up to crawl around a bit, but then he found folks to flirt with and sat still and smiled.

I was asked if they would mind having food all over their faces.  Ummm... I don't think so!

As I was packing everyone back up, the group started talking amongst themselves about what a great advantage it would be to have twins for the shoot on Friday.  If the client had money to pay for two babies, it would be a good way to get around the legal limitations on working babies (they can only work for 2 hours a day and can only be "on set" for 4 hours).  They asked if we'd be able to take them both in, but maybe have Dad in charge of one and me in charge of the other and I confirmed we were both free, thanked them, and headed out.

We got home by 11:30 and everyone took a short nap before Shannon came for a visit and we all walked out to the beach and the Park Chalet.

I was checking my email to see if we'd gotten a response about the audition only to find out that Caroline has been selected to audition for a Plum Organics baby food commercial on Wednesday!  The call came for "Caroline Beth Kelly Salvatore (and Daniel and Max)" so we will bring all three of them down.  The shoot for that campaign is also scheduled for Friday, but I think it would be a bit presumptuous to worry about a conflict in schedule.

For now, I'm just glad the boys seemed to enjoy the experience and we're keeping our fingers crossed we get good news this week.
