Another Zoo Excursion (and Climbing Caroline)

The summer has proven difficult in terms of keeping the children occupied.  A "quiet day at home" invariably turns into a huge mess and a series of skirmishes among them.  And so I have tried to plan activities - gymnastics takes up an hour in transit each way, plus an hour at the gym, plus usually at least half an hour getting lunch.  Swimming breaks up the day.  But then there are long days on Thursdays and on the weekends that must be filled.

Thank goodness for the zoo!

On the train

Caroline has learned how to smile on command!

The sculpture garden!

It was pretty hot!

When we got home on this particular day, Uncle came over so that I could go shopping.  While I was out, Caroline decided to climb on everything she could find.

Climbing Uncle's Car

Climbing the tree up the street.

Climbing the van

Climbing the garbage can (aka "Mommy heart attack")
