Children's Fairy Land!

In the fall, I received practically back to back emails from Grandma and from our friend Jayanthi informing me that they'd bought us vouchers to take the family to Children's Fairy Land in Oakland.  I took the opportunity to meet up with my cousin who was in town with her kids for the holiday and spent both vouchers all at once to take both our families to play the day after New Years.

The park is a little dated - it has a handful of rides - a ferris wheel, a train, and a carousel, a puppet show stage, a handful of farm animals and a little garden plot, and a series of fairy-tale-themed displays.  The kids really liked the whale exhibit where they could climb down into his stomach. And the tower with the scary inside slide.

Then they were off to the ferris wheel.  Because only two kids are allowed per little cage, we made sure to make friends with the kid in front of us in line and Max very bravely joined him.

After digging a little bit in the garden plot, they sat down in the flower chairs for some pictures.

We crowded in with nearly everyone else at the park to see the puppet show.  Max and Caroline found seats at the end of a bench and Daniel sat down in front of them.  As Uncle and I watched from the back, we saw Daniel slide off the bench onto the ground, obviously having been pushed by the bigger kid to his left.  My initial reaction was to ask, "Did that kid just push my son to the ground?", but Uncle was already on his way over to investigate.  It turned out the boy was a little concerned about personal space, but his sister offered to switch places with him and it all turned out OK.

Look at those filthy faces!

The boys ran off with Uncle to find the food, but Caroline hung out to meet Snow White and the Dwarves.

And then it was time for the carousel - which they rode over and over and over again.  So much so that the lovely lady running it didn't make them get off between rides!

On the way out, we posed for pictures at the big dragon.

All in all a very fun day for our three little superheroes!
