Auntie Lee Ann came to town for the weekend and we were all excited to hang out with her on Sunday. But what should we do? The Giants were in town - and on a Sunday, meaning we could do the whole post-game running of the bases. That was our first choice, but it was also Angel Pagan Bobblehead day, which meant that, thanks to the joys of "dynamic pricing", tickets were super expensive. I'd almost given up on that plan, but checked StubHub one last time and found six bleacher seats together for just about face value. Not bad.
And let me tell you, the bleachers are the PERFECT place for three wiggly kids (no sarcasm intended).
Everyone got up early and dressed up in their Giants gear to head out to the game.
Then we were off to the game. We met Daddy and Auntie there and headed in to get our "presents" (the bobble heads) and then to the press box to leave them at Daddy's chair.

This picture went up on the big screen in the sixth inning to welcome us to the game! |
Then we moved on out to my normal section in front of the press box to see Margaret and to sit down and have something to eat.

After a bit, we wandered out to our seats, taking in the sites. The kids were again super excited to play in the cable car that sits in center field and hung out there for quite some time.
The kids got bored waiting for the game to start and were pretty whiny, so we resorted to the magic cure of ice cream bars! We were seated in the middle of the row, but luckily we were surrounded by really nice folks who either had kids or at least liked them, so we didn't seem to annoy anyone too much.

Caroline and Daniel went back to check out the cable car for a while and Max and I hung out in the seats taking pictures of each other while we waited for Auntie to get her food.

Goofball! |
When everyone came back, we stopped a vendor to get some cotton candy. I know it's nothing but sugar and coloring, but because the kids learned about it from the British cartoon Sarah & Duck, they call it "candy floss" and it is next to impossible to deny three adorable children when they ask for "candy floss".
Then it was time for Daniel to get his hands on the camera and take some pictures.

The game was super exciting. Though the Giants had been playing pretty badly for quite a few weeks, their bats came alive during this game and a Buster Posey grand slam landed just about 10 rows in front of us (we saw a woman leave with a bloodied nose from the fight for the ball), only to be followed a bit later on by a Madison Bumgarner grand slam - his second of the season and the first time the starting pitcher and catcher had ever both hit grand slams in the same game.

Doesn't Caroline look impressed? |
It was also pretty warm out there, prompting both boys to peel off their jerseys and then Daniel to strip down another layer!

Daddy and Auntie took the kids up to see the big baseball glove and go down the slides in the Coke bottle for a bit.
And then we packed up in the 8th inning and headed outside to get in line for the running of the bases - the kids' first time!
And then it was back up to the press box to collect our things and kiss Auntie bye bye! Thanks for the great day!
