Breaking Legs?

Perhaps it's beginners' luck, but the boys got the gig on their very first audition!

We got the call on Tuesday evening that they'd been moved to "check-avail" - essentially, telling them they were finalists.  By Wednesday evening, they had been booked!  It's a web commercial for T-Mobile and the basic storyline involves a dad recording video on his phone to play a joke on Grandma.  The scene will be one of the boys in his PJs, sitting in a high chair and playing with his food.  Then there will be another boy, 6 years old, who will be dressed in identical PJs (but that are too small for him) and mimicking his actions.  It's supposed to look like the boy is re-enacting what he had done as a baby.  It's a union job, but the babies won't have to join SAG until they're a little bit older or have made a lot more money.

Today we went to the production company to do a wardrobe check.  We brought all three babies so that we could all experience it together (and because the folks have been nice enough to say we could bring Caroline with us to the set if that would make it easier for us).  We had to take two elevator rides as the double stroller essentially filled the little box.  In the waiting room, we met Mason, who will be playing the boys' 6 year old version.  His mom watched the boys and said to her son, "Wow! That could be you as a baby!"  I guess these casting agents know what they're doing!  The boys all even have a dimple on the same side!

We'd been warned it could take 30-45 minutes, but in the end they only had Max try one pair of PJs on and really liked it.  They'd bought a pair of 4T PJs for Mason, but they actually fit him too well, so the crew will have to go back and buy some in a smaller size so they actually look tight on him.

The major downside is that we have to be at the shoot, in San Rafael, at 8am tomorrow.  So, the bag is packed with food, formula, bottles, toys, a travel tent bed for naps (if they'll take them), and a book for me, and I should head off to bed soon.

And I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's a fun day for everyone!
