We chose to celebrate the Fourth of July with our good friends the Linerts down at Frontierland Park in Pacifica. We showed up with water bottles and sun chairs and it was then that I realized I had no snacks and had forgotten my wallet and had no money to buy food. And, of course, the children were instantly famished. Thank goodness Jayanthi came to our rescue and we got some hot dogs and ice cream and juice!
As soon as Anjali saw Caroline, she took her off to the play structure. The boys wanted to hang out in their chairs, so we gave Anjali and her friend Sarah strict guidelines about where to meet up if they got separated and to come get us should anything happen.
Five minutes later, Sarah came tearing across the lawn to find us, pointing to the entrance to the playground area where Anjali was sitting with Caroline, who had apparently fallen and scraped her knees. Everyone handled it super well and Caroline got to be brave and wear band-aids - two of her favorite things!
Caroline got fireworks on her cheek |
Max got Batman |
Daniel got a Ninja Turtle! (Leonardo, to be exact) |
Now with Leonardo on the other cheek |
And Max with Mikey |
Caroline had her heart set on fireworks and I mistakenly thought they were still being shot off from Crissy Field and we would be able to see them from near Grandma's house. No such luck - they were doing them on the Embarcadero in the fog! So we told Caroline, endured her crying for twenty minutes, and then headed over to Grandma's to have hot dogs for dinner and watch fireworks on TV.
Oh, and play with mustaches.
PS - Did I mention they kept calling it "Captain America Day"?
