Parent-Child Evening

Twice a year, the kids' school has a "parent-child evening", which is like an Open House that lets parents come into the classroom to see what's going on and gives the kids the opportunity to show off what they are doing in class.  We were scheduled for the second time slot of the evening and we got there a little early because the kids were so excited about going to "school at night"!  While we waited, the kids got to show us the fun things in the "play room" where they do pre-school and after-school activities.

Book corner

Puzzles at the table

Blocks on the floor!
And then it was time to show us their "work" in class!

Daniel doing "screwdriver work"

Caroline doing "locks and keys work"

Daniel working on shapes

Max doing color matching

Caroline doing silver polishing

Max guessing shapes

Caroline's turn

Waiting in line for the sink

Chalks and slates

Practicing buckles

Numbers!

Their activities are much more varied than they were last year and they were much more verbal about sharing with us what each piece of work was and how they did it.  I was so happy to see how proud they were to show us what they are learning and to see them enjoying it so much.
